Our students attend Mass weekly, and each 1st-8th Grade homeroom is in charge of leading Masses throughout the year. Our Youth Choir and Schola Cantorum (middle-school choir) sing at school Masses, as well.
Generally, scholars in 3K-4th Grade attend Mass on Tuesdays, and students in 5th-8th Grade attend Mass on Thursdays. We also have all-school Masses on holy days. Mass is at 8:30 a.m. Parents and families are welcome to join us at school Masses!
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." - 1 Peter 4:10
In following with Jesus' calls to serve others, students at St. Charles participate in several service projects throughout the school year. From creating Christmas ornaments for those who have lost their homes in natural disasters to donating items for birthday gifts for children in need to bringing in food and cleaning supplies for our St. Vincent de Paul Society, students have a chance to give back to those who are less fortunate and can see how their contributions make a difference. Through these acts of service, scholars are reminded of the gifts they have been given and how they can use those gifts to help others.
We are in the process of implementing this beautiful Montessori-based religious education program at St. Charles School. It is currently offered as a supplement to religious education in the classroom for children in 3K–2nd Grade.
We need your help to grow the program at St. Charles School. We are in need of parent (or grandparent) volunteers to assist in our sessions during the school day. These are generally organized by their regular homeroom teacher. We love to be in touch with all of our parents! Feel free to contact Shelly Buchan, our Children's Discipleship Lead, if you are interested in helping with cleaning or material making or if you’d like to learn more about the program.
