Our New Church

The Fruits of Our New Church

As our parish continues to grow, St. Charles has been blessed to have opened a new church on April 6, 2024 with a seating capacity of over 1,100. The church's architecture is intentionally designed with unique details and features that allow us to engage in a deeper prayer life and grow in our understanding of the faith.

Unique Features

Steps: Walking up steps into a church can remind us that we are "ascending" in the direction of Heaven as we enter God's house, the place intended to help us to be very close to Him even while we still live on Earth.

Doors: The doors represent Jesus, who is "the Way, the Truth and the Life." (John 14:6)

Holy Water Fonts: These were handmade by parishioner Marlene Millevolte with Borromean Symbols around the edges.

Deer Above the Altar: The deer represent an allusion to Psalm 42:2-3 and to the city of Hartland. "As a hart longs for flowing streams, so long my soul for thee, O God."

Statue of Mary With Baby Jesus: This statue has had a place of honor in each of the St. Charles Churches.

Statue of St. Joseph: St. Joseph is portrayed with a lily for purity and a carpenter's square because of his occupation.

Dome and the Stars: These elements represent the creation story, specifically Genesis 15:5-6.

The Bell Tower: The tower contains four swinging bronze bells representing Caritas (Charity), Spes (Hope), Fides (Faith), and Humilitas (Humility).
